Allef Dauplaise, 54 [sic - error, should be 64] years old, of 7 Midway Plaisance, Chicopee, was found dead in bed in his home early yesterday morning, when a member of his family went to rouse him. Dr. Frank X. Deroin and Dr. George C. Gates responded to a hurry call, but the man was dead on their arrival. Dr. John H. C. Gallagher, medical examiner, pronounced death caused by heart failure. Mr. Dauplaise was apparently in good health Thursday night when he retired after playing cards with his family. He was born in Canada and came to Chicopee 16 years ago. He was employed by the New England Westinghouse Company and was a member of the Westinghouse Mutual Relief Association. He leaves four sons, William of Sanford, Me., Ernest, Anatole, and Urban, all of Chicopee, five daughters, Mrs. Dinah Toranteau of Canada, Mrs. Mary Ann St. Cyr of this city, Mary, Mabel, and Lina Dauplaise, all of Chicopee, one sister, and three brothers in Canada. The funeral will take place from the home Monday morning at 8.30, followed by services in the Church of the Assumption, Chicopee, at 9 o’clock.
